Ning has been teaching and working in music for more than 20 years. Her music education began at the age of 6 learning violin and piano. Later she went on to study at the conservatory affiliated with Nanjing University of the Arts at the age of 13 and attained a Bachelor of Music. Her love of music and passion for teaching intersect naturally since the beginning of her career.

Ning is warm and always provides a nurturing environment where students can grow and achieve their highest potential. She is highly skilled in customising curricula based on individual interests, goals and abilities. Her meticulous approach to the music fundamentals has seen her students achieving excellent results in AMEB exams, scholarship auditions and competitions.

Ning is the founder of Allegro Academy of Music.

Kye has been studying violin since he was 7 and graduated Honours at Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in Violin Performance.

In 2018, he was invited to compete in the Margaret Sutherland Bursary Award Recital Competition, against highly skilled musicians selected from Melbourne Conservatorium and Monash University, winning 1st place. In early 2018, Kye received an invitation from one of the world’s leading conservatories, Curtis Institute of Music, to audition for the 2018 Summerfest Young Artist Summer Program in which he went through a competitive audition process and was offered a scholarship to attend in Philadelphia, USA. Kye has been offered numerous university entrance scholarships to prestigious USA music schools, including Manhattan School of Music, Eastman School of Music, Peabody Institute of Music, Depaul School of Music.

Kye has received numerous awards in solo and chamber music competitions since 2012. Notable chamber awards and performances include; 1st place 2017 Ringwood Eisteddfod Chamber music competition, performed live on radio – 3MBS Classic FM, Melbourne Recital Centre’s “Musical Explorations: Sound of Science” Concert, and Emerging Artists in the Mimir Chamber Music Festival in Texas, USA. Solo awards include the 2017 Top Class Concert, recipient of the 2017 Margaret Schofield Memorial Scholarship(Performance) playing in the Melbourne Recital Centre, Elisabeth Murdoch Hall.

Charlotte Kube

Charlotte Kube has recently graduated from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music with Honours. Some recent highlights from Charlotte’s career include playing with the Geelong Symphony Orchestra, performing Mozart’s Requiem with the Gisborne Singers (directed by Luke Severn), founding a cello duet called Luce with fellow cellist Wendy Ju, and featuring on Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Timothy Wolf’s debut album.

Being a well-rounded professional cellist Charlotte is naturally keen to share her passion for cello and music. While students enjoy her warm personality, she places great emphasis on developing solid technical capabilities and promoting individual musical expressions. Charlotte is experienced in teaching students of a wide age spectrum, from young children to adults.

Leo Nguyen

Having played the piano since the age of 6 Leo Nguyen is a classically trained pianist with a love of performing. He holds a number of accolades, including being the winner of Monash University’s Anna Chmiel Memorial Prize, attaining 3rd place in the Enkor International Music Competition and being the prize winner at Chopin at the Galler. In 2021 Leo has been awarded the Honours in Performance from the University of Melbourne after graduating from Monash University’s Bachelor of Arts/Music with distinction.

Learning from teachers such as Tamara Smolyar, Jerry Wong, Hoang Pham, Len Vorster and Anthony Halliday, Leo has developed a passion for music education.  Using the traditional method that incorporates sight-reading, Leo is experienced in developing study plans for each student and constantly adjusting to the needs of the individual. He has taught students of a wide spectrum of ages from 5 to 66. 

Karl Chiu

Karl is a Bachelor of Music graduate at Monash University. Throughout the years, Karl had experiences in public performances and music festivals such as piano showcase at Monash University and 3mbs radio station’s the Talent program.

As a piano teacher, Karl has years of experience in teaching AMEB classical piano and Piano for Leisure repertoire. Karl’s aim is to inspire his students and promote their love for music. Different teaching methods can be used to maximize the interest and capabilities of the student.

Karl is patient and friendly.

Tristan Sumarna

Having completed AMusA for piano, Tristan is studying the Bachelor of Music at Monash University pursuing his passion of becoming a concert pianist. He is also well known in the religious communities across Melbourne as a pipe organ player. Currently he is the organ scholar for Richmond Uniting Church.

Tristan is passionate about teaching. He is warm and catering. It is his ongoing focus to develop solid technical capabilities of the students and promote their individual musical expressions. He welcomes students from all levels.

Hao Calvin zheng

Hailed as the Australian virtuoso of the erhu, Hao started learning the instrument at the age of 6.  Renowned for his technical precision and expressive musicality, over the years Hao has premiered several works from leading Australian composers and recorded soundtracks for Hollywood movies. 3MBS Fine Music Melbourne and ABC Classics FM have archives of his performances.

Hao’s teaching is electric and catering. He encourages students to search for their musical languages while focusing on the development of the fundamentals in instrumental studies.
